Semi-device-independent randomness certification using Mermin’s proof of Kochen–Specker contextuality

چکیده
Randomness is a potential resource for cryptography, simulations and algorithms. Non-local correlations violating Bell's inequality certify the generation of bit strings whose randomness guaranteed in device-independent manner. We provide interesting semi-device independent certification protocols by Kochen-Specker (KS) contextuality. For this, we first cast Mermin's magic-square proof KS contextuality two-qubit system as communication game prepare-measure scenario. This provides two-bit randomness. Further, using magic-star theorem involving three-qubit system, three-bit conjecture that our proposals can be extended to any arbitrary through suitable valid higher dimensional system.

Experimental semi-device-independent certification of entangled measurements.
Certifying the entanglement of quantum states with Bell inequalities allows one to guarantee the security of quantum information protocols independently of imperfections in the measuring devices. Here, we present a similar procedure for witnessing entangled measurements, which play a central role in many quantum information tasks. Our procedure is termed semi-device-independent, as it uses unch...
متن کاملDevice-independent quantum secret sharing using Mermin-type contextuality
We present a new quantum secret sharing protocol based on recent advances in Mermin-type contextuality scenarios, which is provably secure against postquantum nonsignaling attackers. It is a fundamental assumption of secret sharing protocols that not all players are trusted parties, and that some may collude amongst themselves and with eavesdroppers to break confidentiality. To this extent, qua...
متن کاملDevice-independent Randomness Amplification and Privatization
Randomness is an essential resource in computer science. In most applications perfect, and sometimes private, randomness is needed, while it is not even clear that such a resource exists. It is well known that the tools of classical computer science do not allow us to create perfect and secret randomness from a single weak public source. Quantum physics, on the other hand, allows for such a pro...
متن کاملDevice-independent certification of high-dimensional quantum systems.
An important problem in quantum information processing is the certification of the dimension of quantum systems without making assumptions about the devices used to prepare and measure them, that is, in a device-independent manner. A crucial question is whether such certification is experimentally feasible for high-dimensional quantum systems. Here we experimentally witness in a device-independ...
متن کاملDevice-independent Randomness Extraction for Arbitrarily Weak Min-entropy Source
In this paper we design a protocol to extract random bits with an arbitrarily low bias from a single arbitrarily weak min-entropy block source in a device independent setting. The protocol employs Mermin devices that exhibit super-classical correlations. Number of devices used scales polynomially in the length of the block n, containing entropy of at least two bits. Our protocol is robust, it c...
